Andrew Bentley, an English composer and researcher, is nowadays active in Finland at Sibelius Academy, Helsinki. In the Nordic countries Bentley is recognized to be one of the most outstanding pedagogues and specialists for music and technology. His work for the Composers’ Desktop Project (CDP) set a milestone in the history of computer music. Bentley’s developments in the field of studio technology and live electronics have been written about in numerous scientific journals. In Finland his influential role in the development of experimental music contributed to positive processes having taken place at YLE (The National Finish Broadcast and Radio Corporation) and Sibelius Academy.
